SAGAR RATNA : A great restaurant to try for tasty vegetarian Marwari Cuisine
The starters were delicious in my opinion. The ‘Jodhpuri Pyaaz ki Kachoris’ were just yummy. The potato filling inside the Kachoris was cooked properly. Trying it for the first time, eating such a dish really increased my liking for Rajasthani food. As a non-vegetarian lover, the ‘Soya Chaap ke Sule’ was cooked similarly to chicken Kebabs which is one of my favorites. In fact, in the first few minutes I could not differentiate between whether the dish was vegetarian or non-vegetarian.
In the main course, the Dal baati was quite an eye-catcher. As a south-Indian, the hard nature of such a dish was confusing at first. After crumbling the Baati and having it with the dal, it really was quite the dish. Although crumbling these Baatis took some time, they really were worth it. The Bajra rotis went along well with the other dishes such as the Gatte ki Sabzi. The side-dishes such as the Lahsoon Chutney were finger-licking.
Along with all these main dishes, they came along with Papads and a whole lot of other great side-dishes that really added to the overall feel of the Rajasthani food. The main courses also came along with amazing desserts. The Gud ka Churma was sweet and great.
The delivery and packaging of the food could also be commended. The food was delivered without social contact and followed the guidelines of social distancing. The food was packaged nicely with no leakage. Furthermore, the dishes were delivered on time without any delays. The service was very good and this was a huge plus point.
All in all, Sagar Ratna is one such restaurant that anyone can try for great food. It presents a different cuisine that is sure to show you the cultural diversity in India.
